Kiss Goodbye to MS awarded “Most Effective Creative Campaign”

22nd March, 2016

The Fundraising Institute of Australia (FIA) has recognised the success and momentum of Kiss Goodbye to MS, awarding MS Research Australia with two major accolades at the recent 2016 National Excellence in Fundraising Awards. The FIA is the peak body representing professional fundraising in Australia, and MS Research Australia is honoured to have received two more awards recognising Kiss Goodbye to MS as an innovative and creative fundraising initiative.

At the FIA gala awards event in Melbourne, Kiss Goodbye to MS was awarded with the “Special Events Award” in the revenue under $5 million category, which recognises the effectiveness of a fundraising campaign. Later in the evening, we were the winner of a Principal Award, for “Most Effective Creative Campaign”. This latter award is one of two Principal Award’s which are the highest accolades awarded by the FIA. As the winner Kiss Goodbye to MS and MS Research Australia was recognised as having the most outstanding display of effective use of creative vision to communicate the needs of our organisation. This was a great thrill for us and, most importantly, it helps to raise awareness about MS all across Australia.

The FIA awards recognise outstanding initiatives and innovative efforts in the not for profit sector. The awards commend organisations and organisational leaders for their passion and dedication to their cause. MS Research Australia is proud to have received these awards in recognition of the success of Kiss Goodbye to MS in 2015. As the winner of these awards, we will be in the running for a global fundraising award, adjudicated in the middle of the year.

As with any successful initiative, the success of Kiss Goodbye to MS is a combination of many contributing factors. MS Research Australia is a very small, dedicated team who work closely to ensure Kiss Goodbye to MS reaches its objectives. Being a social media driven campaign, we are able to keep fundraising costs low, meaning more funds go to the area of intent. Although the team play an important part, the success of Kiss Goodbye to MS wouldn’t be possible without our pro bono corporate partners, and our supportive community.

These awards are testament to our passionate fundraisers, to every donation that is given and to every person who supports us on social media. Thank you for making our dream to Kiss Goodbye to MS, one step closer to becoming a reality. We can’t do it without you, and we are honoured to receive these two awards for fundraising excellence on behalf of our Kiss Goodbye to MS Community.
