MS Research Australia Wins Outstanding Achievement Award in 2016

MS Research Australia awarded the Australian Charity Awards Outstanding Achievement 2016

The Australian Business Awards (ABA) has recently announced its 2016 Australian Charity Award winners and MS Research Australia is proud to have won an Outstanding Achievement Award 2016 to go alongside winning the Charity of the Year Award in 2015.

The Australian Charity Award for Outstanding Achievement recognises charitable organisations that have achieved outstanding results through initiatives that have significantly benefited charitable causes. Initiatives are evaluated in accordance with the assessment framework and are scored across the key areas of Planning, Research and Development; Execution and/or Implementation; Impact and/or Outcomes and Performance Management.

In a sector that is more aligned with a “marathon” than a “sprint”, we are really proud of the small team at MS Research Australia and their incredible sustained effort. For many years, the team has worked long days, and for many, frequent late-night teleconferences with our global colleagues, to ensure that both our national and our increasingly global activities, are completed.

It has been wonderful to see the impact that multiple sclerosis (MS) research discoveries are now having for many people with MS. However there is still a considerable amount of work to be done, which will require all efforts to be doubled so that all potential research avenues are funded and translated into high impact and much needed improvements in the treatment, management and prevention of MS – ensuring the best quality of life for people affected by MS.

Our congratulations to the other award winners and especially to Cure Brain Cancer Australia, the worthy recipient of the 2016 Charity of the Year Award.
