Queenslanders for the cause

A group of dynamic, passionate and philanthropic members of the MS community have come together to make 2010 the year they make a difference, forming Queenslanders for the Cause.

Members of this leadership group represent a number of different industries and demographics, but they share a common purpose – to raise $300,000 by next June.

Money raised through fundraisers and donations will fund two important initiatives – a research project that aims to discover the cause of multiple sclerosis and new treatment methods, and regional support services for Queenslanders living with MS.

Generous contributions will allow the Proteomic Collaboration study to proceed, which explores the biological changes and protein balances in MS cells, which cause the disease and its progression. In addition, fundraising will allow a specialist MS Nurse to visit regional areas and offer support services to people living with MS.
