MSRA Funding
MSRA annually offers financial support to Australian scientists in the effort to accelerate and increase MS research activity.
MSRA partners with likeminded organisations including the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and the Trish MS Research Foundation to leverage our funding and increase the number of opportunities available to researchers.

Project Grants
Investigator-driven projects require fully developed proposals inclusive of budget estimates. In addition, RMC will review each application with a high degree of weight placed on its relevance to advancing MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS research.
Please note that if you wish to apply for funding from the National MS Society (USA), we have been advised that it is advantageous to attain MSRA prior support.
Incubator ("Seeding") Grants
Applications are invited for small grants (up to $25,000 plus GST for one year only) to ‘seed’ the earliest stages of new research efforts.
Fellowships
Applicants are encouraged to apply to both MSRA and NHMRC significantly increasing your chances of funding either by MSRA, NHMRC, or the Trish MS Research Foundation or through a co-funding agreement.
Proposals MUST show a direct link to advancing our knowledge of MS.

We encourage applicants to apply not only to MSRA but also for a NHMRC - MSRA Betty Cuthbert Fellowship Award to increase your chance of success.

We encourage applicants to read the Senior Fellowship Policy document prior to completing the application form.

* Ian Ballard Travel Fellowship Award
We encourage applicants to read the Ian Ballard Travel Fellowship Award Policy document prior to completing the application form.
* NHMRC - MSRA Betty Cuthbert Fellowships
These prestigious NHMRC Fellowships are awarded annually for four years and are jointly funded with MSRA.
Please note that to be eligible for a NHMRC - MSRA Betty Cuthbert Fellowship, applicants must apply to both MSRA and NHMRC. Applications will not be automatically routed between sites. Please select “MS Co-Funded award from the appropriate drop down box within the NHMRC application and also complete the “MSRA Postdoctoral Fellowship application”.
* TRIP MSRA Fellowship
MSRA are co-sponsoring with the NHMRC a TRIP Fellowship for a future leader in the uptake of evidence into clinical practice for multiple sclerosis (MS).

We encourage applicants to apply not only to MSRA but also for a NHMRC - MSRA Betty Cuthbert Scholarship Award for funding to increase your chance of success.

* Trish MS Research Foundation Postgraduate Scholarships
The Trish Multiple Sclerosis Research Foundation has very specific aims for the research projects for which the money is being raised. The Foundation is focussed on achieving its goal, with all research funds being put towards an ultimate cure, in other words myelin protection, repair or restoration.
MSRA advises Trish MS Research Foundation on the best candidates to fund with particular emphasis placed on opportunities attracting matching funds.
* Vacation Scholarships
Platform and Directed Projects
Platforms and Directed Projects are significant initiatives that enable or underpin other research projects. A range of projects linking a mix of single and multi-disciplinary research initiatives can access these platforms. Examples: MSRA Brain Bank, ANZgene. Please call MSRA to discuss potential collaborations.
