Research Support

[Click to Enlarge] - ANZGene Members: (L-R) Dr Justin Rubio, Professor Jim Wiley (Chair) at the MSRA "Progress in MS Research" Conference, November 2007In 2007, MSRA funded almost $2 million in MS research across Australia.

This will also be the first year that Applied and Social Research Projects will be reviewed seperately from other projects. In addition, a seperate allocation of funds are available to boost activity in this area.

1. Platform Projects

Platforms are major initiatives that enable or underpin other research projects. A range of projects linking a mix of single and multi-disciplinary research initiatives can access these platforms.  Examples: MS Brain Bank, ANZGene (formally known as AusGene). Please call MSRA to discuss potential collaborations.

2. Investigator-Initiated Project Grants

Investigator-Initiated Projects require fully developed proposals inclusive of budget estimates. In addition, RMC will review each application with a high degree of weight placed on its relevance to advancing MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS research

Please note that if you wish to apply for NMSSA (USA) funding, we have been advised that it is advantageous to attain MSRA prior support.  Therefore, it is important that your application be submitted before our closing date 30th May 2008.

Please complete and return the following files to MSRA

3. Incubator Grants

Applications are invited for small grants (up to $25,000 plus GST for one year only) to ‘seed’ the earliest stages of new research efforts.  Applications are accepted all year round.
